Dandelion Days

Have you been inundated with millions and trillions of tiny little dandelion clocks wafting and whirling like snow?

We've had two days of it now, and this morning it was like a little flurry of sleet!

My sister, who lives in the next county (although only a half hour drive away) has had the same too, so its pretty widespread down in the south-east.

It gets everywhere - in the house, in your drink, and your nose is forever tickling!

Not that I am complaining as it has been idyllic weather this week - like summer, and I feel like I'm on holiday here with my daughter home from school for the Easter holidays.

As she is home and working hard for her exams, I did some baking. One of her birthday presents was a lovely baking book, and she chose and I baked these yummy Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies from it.

This is the recipe

Dollops of the cheesecake mix on top of the brownie mix

Now "swirled" in!

Ours was ready after after 35 mins, not 40 - 45mins as per the recipe.

Yum!

A lot of our time has been spent out here

The clematis is flowering!

revision has been done

(thats my daughter under a sheet (for reasons best known to her) supposedly revising - as i discovered her asleep a while later I suspect it was to hide the fact that she planned to have a snooze rather than work!

Sewing al fresco - what a pleasure

a special project for a very special little girl - will "show and tell" hopefully tomorrow when its finished

loads and loads of washing  has been hung out to dry

plenty of work in here has been done

and a bit out here when its not been too hot

but still lots to do

Lots of playing

more playing

lots of sleeping

lots of relaxing

And the odd glass of wine as the sun goes down, and well deserved to ;) after the mammoth watering session had been done in the greenhouse and vegetable plot

Off to do that now!

Hope you have all had a lovely day, and have a wonderful Easter Weekend wherever you are!

  2. Looks as if you had a nice relaxing day in the garden. Our garden is small. I wish it was bigger but you can't have everything in life can you! Today we purchased a new toy - a pressure washer and I was like a child with a new toy cleaning the patio!
Hope you have a lovely Easter and Good Luck to your daughter with her exams. Why is it always sunny when you have to revise! Wouldn't it be better if exams were in Winter!

We have lots of dandelions too - apparently something to do with the cold of last winter and their long tap roots

  12. It does feed the soul spending time in the garden, even if you're under a sheet! However, I have spent so much time gardening that very little crafting has taken place recently. Tonight I am finishing a little thank you gift I promised someone some time ago! I haven't forgotten, honest.
Wishing you more sunny garden days.

  14. Thank you for bringing these sunny delights into my world Gilly...and also, those Brownies! They look perfectly sinful, especially since I'm trying to get my summer body back...still going to have to try them though!
Our so called 'front yard' is filled with fresh dandelions at the moment so we're a few days away from the dandeliion sleet but it will be here soon...unless we get to them first!

I know what you mean about wanting it all when you are younger, I suppose that's just life! 23. I haven't had the dandelion experience so far! Actually I haven't seen any that have gone to seed yet.We must be miles behind up here. Lovely pics seeing everybody enjoying the sunshine, it's wonderful to think we have all summer ahead of us.

  24. Awww, stop tempting me with those delicious looking brownies, always a temptation for me. The dandelions have only just flowered here, but now that they have, it's like a carpet of yellow, oh dear, lots of work digging them out I fear. The weather is too nice for revision, well, that's what Daniel tells me anyway, I'm not so sure.

  25. Your cheesecake brownie looks absolutely amazing! I am going to have to make some immediately. I figure with Easter Sunday being tomorrow and the inevitable chocolate nibbling, I might as well leave the diet until next week!!! Bye.
