As usual my good intentions to post fortnightly, or even monthly, seem to have gone to pot and I have no idea how we have got to November so quickly!
If there's anyone still out there following me, then a big "hello"!!! Hope you are well!
fabric covered baubles
Life is one big rush at the moment and I seem to exist in a continual state of being surrounded by works in progress, getting ready for festive fairs and keeping my space at The Loft Room in Brenchley, Kent, looking enticing!
So today I'm sharing with you some of the goodies I've been making these last few months, and I'm sorry to say they are mostly Christmas things so look away now if you don't want to be reminded yet!
felt reindeer with embroidered saddles
felt wool hearts with snowflakes
patchwork tree hangers
aprons from a vintage pattern
hessian and vintage wool robins
french style calico bags with vintage ribbon
Annie Sloan painted cabinet for customer, shown with calico bags
hessian bookmarks
french lavender filled vintage fabric hearts and antique grain sack cushion
Phew!
Back in September we had a wonderful week in the Yorkshire Dales with lots of walks through the beautiful countryside, and I feel like I could do with another peaceful week there right now after all this sewing!
But with only a few weeks to go now until I attend the first of the festive fairs, the three day Wealden Times Midwinter Fair at Bedgebury in Kent, it's back to sewing, sewing and more sewing!
Good Evening Gill, My word, no wonder you have not been able to sit at your computer and blog. I can see you have been so very busy.
ReplyDeleteYour little reindeer are so sweet and the Christmas trees are lovely. I do love fabric hearts and yours are so very pretty... plus, you know I love an apron or two.
I feel after all your hard work, you will have very little stock left once you start selling at Christmas Fayres, because everyone who visits your stall will fall in love with something and they will want to buy.
Best wishes
Daphne

Hi Daphne, thank you so much for your lovely comments, I'm so pleased to hear what you like as everyone likes different things, and the reindeer and trees are some of my favourites to make! It'll be interesting to see what sells well as I often find you just cannot predict what people are going to like. Your lovely comment is very encouraging!
DeleteI've just, once again, tried to comment on your latest post with the yummy sounding Lentil Soup recipe, but as I'm not in Google plus and have heard of all sorts of problems if you switch, so I'm not rocking the boat and staying as I am, but I shallenjoy reading your posts even if I can't comment! Best Wishes Daphne, Gill xx
What a lot of gorgeous makes, Gill. You have been so busy and everything looks lovely. I think the little reindeer are especially sweet! It is nice to see you here again, and I wish you a happy new week.

Hello Helen, lovely to hear from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment, and thankyou for your kind words on the reindeer! Hope you are well, have a great week too! Gill xx
DeleteYour makes are so lovely - I really hope that your sales go well. May I ask if you designed the pattern for the reindeers? I would love to make a few (not to sell). Thanks x
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment Helen! I was inspired by the shape of a reindeer I saw in a book on Scandinavian inspired decorations (can't remember name of book off top of my head) and the look of decorative dala horses, and so adapted a vintage toy horse pattern I had to get what I wanted. Gill xx
DeleteAll the things you've made are so lovely.
