A hotchpotch of vintage and recycled fabrics made into patchwork cushions.
The vintage green and white gingham came from an old tea time tablecloth picked up from the Friday Antique and Flea market a few months ago, and as it had lots of holes in the middle I decided it was better upcycled, and the original embroidery now adds a pretty decorative feature to the back of the cushion.
The blue and green leaves fabric on one of the cushions is a vintage Liberty cotton, and the golden yellow roses are a 1950s vintage sheet fabric. This cushion has the large faded red check back.
The other cushion, with the green gingham back, features a lovely green print from the 1960s or 70s sourced from Switzerland.
Both are now available in my Etsy shop.

Wishing you all a Happy Weekend!

They are all so adorable Gill - and it is interesting to know the background to the fabrics used. It makes it all the more special and something to be talked about when someone admires one of your cushions. xCathy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful patchwork cushions, Gill! I love the mix of fabrics you have put together, especially the gorgeous green gingham one, such a wonderful find with the embroidery too!

These are lovely cushions Gill, I especially like the one with the green gingham back and what a lovely blog hop post you did previously. Your principle of taking items past their best and reworking them makes your cushions so special. Hope you're having some lovely holiday time with Bella, my girls will be going back first week in September - time goes so quickly! See you soon.
